MEET THE TEAM

Bonnie Knapp, RMT, Dip.Sc.O, Dip.O.M.P

She/Her

Bonnie graduated in 2009 from Kine-Concept Massage School in Montreal, where she lived and worked as a massage therapist and yoga instructor for 5 years before returning home to Winnipeg. Her early days in practice led her to feel that there was more to helping clients and their bodies than simple massage could provide. Continuing education courses and treatment from an osteopath in Montreal motivated her to take the plunge and pursue the Osteopathic Manual Therapist program with the Canadian College of Osteopathy, from which she graduated in 2021.

Throughout her years of practice, Bonnie has had extensive experience working with mature and elderly populations, especially those suffering from chronic disease such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, and neurological disorders. Her experiences with this population encouraged her to complete her osteopathic thesis exploring the effects of Cranial Osteopathy in those with cardiovascular disease, learning a great deal more about the interrelatedness of these diseases and how osteopathy can help.

Bonnie also enjoys working with patients suffering from headaches, migraines, and post-concussion symptoms. Her own personal struggles with chronic migraines have given her a level of insight and treatment possibilities that she enjoys sharing with patients.

Bonnie continues to expand her knowledge through continuing education courses. She recently completed a post-graduate course on osteopathy and the neuroplasticity of the brain, which deals with fluid dynamics in the cranium and brain. Following that she attended Palpation of the Living Bioplasm & Dialogue with the Inner Physician; this course allowed her to hone her palpation skills to better determine the main areas of treatment the body needs. She is also hoping to pursue a Nutrition and Osteopathy course, knowing that what we put into our bodies plays a huge role in how we feel every day.

She is registered with the Natural Healthcare Practitioners of Canada, Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, and Manitoba Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists.

Jasmine Wiens RMT, Dip.Sc.O, Dip.O.M.P.

She/Her

Jasmine began her manual therapy career as an RMT in 2008, and after a couple years she decided to begin Manual Osteopathy training, develop additional tools for helping others, and view the body in a more complete way.

As often happens in life, this path was not a straight line from A to B. Through the years of osteopathy training, Jasmine took breaks to explore other aspects of health as well. She travelled to India to take immerse herself in a yoga training course, where the most impactful aspects turned out to be the philosophy and meditation classes.

What stood out to Jasmine were the similarities between yogic, spiritual, and osteopathic philosophies. This observation has become more apparent with time, and now she believes that healing happens on multiple levels including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Jasmine is happy to offer a hands-on approach through manual osteopathy and loves to work with clients who share this view on the healing process.

In 2021 she graduated from the Canadian College of Osteopathy, after completing her thesis "The Effect of Sutherland's Approach Towards the Ligamenta Arcuata on Thoracic/Abdominal Expansion Ratios: A Study Design" and is now an Osteopathic Manual Therapist.

Jasmine lives with her partner and her daughter in Winnipeg. Being an honorary stepmom, and a life-partner have brought joy, love, learning, and growth. Jasmine would like those in the LGBTQ2+ community to know that they are welcome in our space. She understands the difficulty involved with sharing personal information with new healthcare providers (and really with new people in general) and it is her hope to provide a welcoming atmosphere to all people who want to be active in their self-care, and who are seeking osteopathy services.

She is registered with the Natural Healthcare Practitioners of Canada, Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, and Manitoba Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists.

Continuing education courses include effects of osteopathy on neuroplasticity of the brain, and Palpation and Dialogue With the Inner Doctor from the Living Bioplasm.

Rebecca Voth, RMT, Dip.Sc.O, Dip.O.M.P.

She/Her

Growing up as a competitive dancer, Rebecca developed an interest in the human body at a young age. When a knee injury interrupted her dreams to be a professional dancer, she found manual therapy for the first time and was instantly intrigued at the profound knowledge her RMT had.

Rebecca graduated from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2013 and enrolled directly into the Canadian College of Osteopathy. In 2020, Rebecca graduated as an Osteopathic Manual Therapist after completing her thesis “The Effect of Regional Osteopathic Treatment Addressing Cranial Nerve XI for Patient with Trapezius Myalgia”.

Rebecca understands the importance of taking the time to truly listen to her patients- seeing them as a whole being as opposed to just a sum of their symptoms. Together, she helps them discover the root cause of their pain or body disturbances.

She treats patients for all sorts of injuries and disruptions in the body such as joint pain, headaches, post-surgical recovery, digestive problems and more. After having children herself, Rebecca developed a love for treating women through the fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum phases of life.

Rebecca loves the way that through Osteopathy, science, art and intuition come together to help her patients heal and find harmony in their bodies. Happy to be a forever student, Rebecca has taken multiple continuing education courses including An Osteopathic Approach to Fertility, Pregnancy and Postpartum, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, and Fields and Levels with Gerald Lamb.

Rebecca is a member of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba, Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, and the Manitoba Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists.
